Capmont’s portfolio company Iconia Group acquires Gatto Astucci, further advancing its leadership in visual merchandising solutions and luxury packaging

Capmont announces the acquisition of Gatto Astucci S.p.A. (“Gatto Astucci” or “the Company”), a leading Italian manufacturer of luxury packaging and point-of-sale display solutions, through its portfolio company Iconia Group (“Iconia” or “the Group”). The transaction integrates Gatto Astucci’s industrial and commercial expertise into Iconia, forming a global player with combined revenues of more than EUR 110 million, production facilities in Europe and China and a global workforce of over 1,000 employees. The transaction was signed in April 2026 and closed in July 2026.

Headquartered in Domegge di Cadore (Belluno, Italy), Gatto Astucci designs and manufactures high-end product packaging, cases and display stands primarily for the eyewear and jewelry markets. Through its subsidiary Sarno Display, the Company is also a leading player in the design and production of point-of-sale display solutions for the cosmetics sector. Gatto Astucci operates production facilities in Italy, Croatia and China and serves an international client base through subsidiaries across Europe, the United States and Asia.

The combination brings together two highly complementary businesses: Iconia’s established leadership in visual merchandising for the luxury industry and Gatto Astucci’s strength in eyewear and jewelry packaging and in cosmetics displays. The combined Group benefits from a larger, industrialized operating platform, ensuring business continuity and building on the human capital that has driven both companies’ success. The new Group will be led by Daniel Bortolamei, CEO of Iconia Group. The De Silvestro family, the former owners of Gatto Astucci, will reinvest alongside Capmont and become shareholders of the combined Group.

“The agreement represents a key milestone in our growth strategy. The integration of Gatto Astucci allows us to accelerate our development path, strengthening our positioning in displays through Sarno Display, a market leader in the cosmetics sector, while further consolidating our presence in the packaging space. This transaction strengthens our role as the partner of reference across these segments, bringing together two outstanding entrepreneurial stories to respond more effectively to the challenges and opportunities of global markets,” said Daniel Bortolamei, CEO of Iconia Group.

“Joining Iconia Group represents the natural evolution of our journey, which began with the ambition of becoming a benchmark in solutions that communicate brand value. We have found a partner who shares our values and our vision, a company that has always believed in the European – and especially Italian – industrial base and that will be able to enhance our long-standing relationships with clients, while offering new and important growth opportunities,” said Paolo De Silvestro, CEO of Gatto Astucci.

“It is a pleasure to welcome the De Silvestro family and the entire Gatto Astucci team into Iconia Group. This combination creates a new, global leader, capable of supporting clients throughout the entire customer journey, both through the in-store experience and through product packaging. We would particularly like to thank the De Silvestro family for embracing our vision and joining us as partners,” said Rudi Facchini, Investment Director at Capmont.

The acquisition marks the next step in Iconia Group’s strategy and underscores Capmont’s commitment to supporting its portfolio companies as an active, hands-on partner in creating international market leaders.
